Qatar - Quick Summary

Qatar(Green).png
Qatar (Green), London (Black), Frankfurt (Blue) & Dubai (Grey)

Between GFCI 1 and GFCI 11 Qatar has shown amongst the largest improvements in its GFCI rating of all Centres. The index describes it as a broad centre, which does particularly well with respondents from North America and the Asia/Pacific, as well as Europe. In recent issues Qatar has risen to become a Top 2 centre in the Middle-East, competing closely with Dubai to be the leading centre in the region. There is strong positive sentiment towards further improvements in Qatar's ratings, with a respondent in GFCI 11 stating that people should “watch Qatar with interest over the next couple of years – I think it has much to offer”. Founded in 2005 by the Qatar government, the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFC Authority) has helped create the "strong underlying fundamentals" which GFCI 11 reports. Areas of expertise include Asset Management, Captive Insurance and Re-insurance.
