[[FinancialCentreFutures:Global Financial Centres Index|GFCI]]11 describes Tokyo as a Global Leader which is both broad and deep. It has particular strength's in banking and insurance. Between GFCI1 and GFCI11 Tokyo has closed the gap to leaders [[FinancialCentreFutures:London|London]] and [[FinancialCentreFutures:New York|New York]], but has not shown the same level of improvement as other Asian centres (such as [[FinancialCentreFutures:Seoul|Seoul]]).
