Carbon capture and storage/sequestration (CCS) is the application of technologies to the storage of CO2. Typically, CCS projects are based on capturing CO2 from large-scale power stations with the intention of storing CO2 over millennia in stable geological formations.
One 2007 London Accord report by JP Morgan clearly questions the economics - Carbon Capture and Sequestration.
