Gresham College is an independently funded educational institution, which has been providing free public lectures in the City of London for over 400 years, since its foundation in 1597 by Sir Thomas Gresham. The lectures are delivered by the eight appointed lecturers - in Astronomy, Commerce, Divinity, Geometry, Law, Music, Physic and Rhetoric - as well as by visiting professors.
