Shanghai - Quick Summary

SHANGHAI(Turquoise).png
Shanghai (Turquoise), New York (Navy), Hong Kong (Blue) & Frankfurt (Light-Blue)

GFCI 11 describes Shanghai as a Globally Diversified centre, which is broad. It has a particular strength in the Insurance sub-indices, where it is ranked fourth. In addition, in the areas of competitiveness sub-indices, Shanghai ranks Top 10 in People, Market Access and General Competitiveness. Between GFCI 1 and GFCI 11, Shanghai has closed the gap to leaders London and New York, although it is yet to achieve the same level of competitiveness with these market leaders as Hong Kong. Its ratings are also somewhat more variable. Despite this, Shanghai has now overtaken Frankfurt in the index.
